Determination of Maximum Torque and Corresponding Current Phase Angle of Permanent Magnet Machines

image
In a permanent magnet machine, the current phase angle plays an important role for maximum torque per ampere generation. For the surface mounted permanent magnet machines, the current in phase with machine back EMF generate maximum torque. However, this is not true for interior permanent magnet motors due to the presence of reluctance torque.

In this webinar, you will learn
What the current phase angle is?
How to determine the d-axis and phase A axis of different machines in a EMWorks2D.
How to determine the current phase angle corresponding maximum torque using machine parameters.
How to determine the current phase angle corresponding maximum torque using finite element analysis.
How the current phase angle affects the machine performance and its torque generation.
