Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motors, known for their high efficiency and torque density, are ideal for applications like electric vehicles and industrial automation. Using EMWORKS MOTORS simulation software, the design of an IPM motor with a V-shaped rotor magnet arrangement was optimized. The motor achieved a peak torque of 4.9 Nm, 1.36 kW power output, and over 91% efficiency, with minimal cogging torque and an ideal back EMF waveform. This simulation-driven approach enhances motor performance, reduces prototyping costs, and accelerates development for high-performance applications.
